To celebrate its extended run to September 10, new British West End comedy musical Betwixt! is to give an entire performance FREE to its ever-growing army of Twitter fans.
All seats at the Be-Tweet show on Monday 22nd August - the first night in the extension - are up for grabs at Trafalgar Studios 2.
Producer Christopher D. Clegg said: “The love for this show on Twitter has been amazing. Every day we get tweets from people who are crazy for the show. They spread the word, compliment the writing, rave about the cast, even the piano player’s socks have been singled out for comment! Many of our fans have been back two, three or even four times - which in what was only to be a 4-week run is amazing. So we thought we would give something back to them with this free show.”
The “Be-Tweet” performance will take place at 7.45pm on Monday August 22nd and to get a ticket, you need to be following @BetwixtMusical on the social network, and you must tweet the following between Monday 15th August and Thursday 18th August:
I’m a #betweeter and I should come to #betwixt because:
Christopher said: “You then have to post a picture/video/audio file/blog/vlog/drawing that sums up why you love Betwixt! and why you should come to this special performance. You can use twitter, tumblr, facebook, youtube, flickr - anything that can help you get your point across! The more creative the response, the better- try and make us laugh (but be warned - we are a tough bunch to please!).”
Winners will be drawn at random by the cast and creative team and will be announced on Friday 19th August. Maximum 2 tickets per person. You must be following @BetwixtMusical to be in with a chance. Tickets are not for sale or have any monetary value.

Greenwich Playhouse Struggles Following the London Riots

The recent London riots have decimated audience levels at the Greenwich Playhouse. At last night’s press launch for the UK Premiere of the American musical ‘SLAY IT WITH MUSIC’, the venue experienced the smallest audience for a Press Night in its near 20 year history.

A Stage Kindly artistic directors have said:
“A STAGE KINDLY New Musical Theatre Initiative is one of the few companies in Britain specialising in producing new musicals. This is our Company’s first extended run and we have invested everything into producing this show. The reduced audience levels are devastating to us, to the large cast and technical team who have dedicated so much time and talent to bringing to life this fantastic new American musical. We remain deeply concerned about the evident impact that these riots have had in destroying audience’s confidence to venture out to the theatre and to an area which has been surrounded by civil unrest. If audience levels do not improve, this could result in the end of our company and the ambitious work which it does in supporting new musical theatre writing from all over the world.”
